ET adds BRU to its european network
Addis Ababa - The Ethiopian national carrier has launched a thrice-weekly regular flight from Addis Ababa to Brussels, reports said on Tuesday. The inaugural flight departed at 11.20pm on Monday night (2020 GMT) from Ethiopia and arrived at Zaventem Airport in the Belgian capital at 7.55am on Tuesday (0555 GMT). The inaugural flight carried guests from the Ethiopian capital as well as from Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with Belgian Ambassador to Ethiopia Fredric Regard the guest of honour, the airliner said in a statement. In addition to its daily cargo flight, Ethiopian Airlines plans to fly initially three times a week between the two cities, departing on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arriving in Brussels via Paris the following morning. The return flights are scheduled to depart Brussels on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays to arrive in Addis Ababa via Paris the following morning. Brussels is now the seventh European destination for Ethiopian Airlines, which started longhaul flights to Frankfurt in 1957, and its 47th worldwide. The airliner currently offers 23 weekly flights to Europe, with daily flights to Rome, six flights a week to London, three to Paris and Frankfurt, and two to Amsterdam and Stockholm. - Sapa-dpa Cheers, Rwandan spotter

Sorry Giraffe I don't know ET hesitates between 757 or 767 They could use a mix of both depending on loads. This would give them efficient flexibility. Cheers, Walter

Just a bit news re the ET B744s. Seems that idea has been shelved, instead an A332 and MD11 (the latter operating ADD-FCO-IAD) will be leased in until ET decide about further expanding their fleet.
