Ghana International Airlines: The Future
What I am about to post has no backing but came out of a chat I had with a well placed source within G0 over a couple of beers. According to the source, GIAL shall go all airbus by the end of the year. Apparently, airbus has offered to pay out some sort of airframe/powerplant agreement GIAL had with boeing, in exchange for the airline getting some A340 (unknown variant) and A320 to commence their operations. They are apparently working on getting their regional operations using the A320s up and running in the Nov/Dec 2006 time frame. The leased 757 shall be returned when the busses are received. Apparently, the new management team is bent on countering the growing dominance of VK & KQ and the recent announcement by Bellview to replace their aging 732s with new A320s. Hope this works out for them. G0 is certainly a carrier with alot of potential. Again, no links/supporting data. just from the grapevine and thought that I would share. I would treat it with a pinch of salt until something more concrete comes up. Cheers

Would explain a lot of things if true (re G0 and Airbus). As per their initial startup plans G0 were to use MD90s and B763s - neither of which have materialised. Maybe the lack of introduction of these types has to do with G0 chatting with Airbus. Lets see what develops.
