Spam user accounts Hi there,
as you might have noticed there is a little problem with spammers abusing the forum. I believe through some kind of program they register, only to advertise their -often abusive- websites. What to do? Delete them all by hand (around 2 to 3 a day)? I tried to set up a registering system where you have to type in a security-code seen on an image, but somehow the image didn't want to show...
So what shall I do???

After I solved the problem with the registration process more or less, I am now busy to delete those spam accounts. Hopefully this will not take more than a few days (its nerve-killing handwork to delete every single account...). So don't wonder if the number of user decreases dramatically (I hope not too much).

No worries Felix. These spammers don't help us in anyway. It's better to have few dedicated members than a membership bloated by spammers.

Done... I eliminated all spam accounts. :D  :D
If you notice any abuse of the forum, don't hesitate to tell me via pm or e-mail.

Oh dear...
I don't know if it is just my browser but there are now 3 inaccessible spam messages in the news section of the forum. I would delete them if I could access them but when I try to open them nothing loads.

Same here, I really don't know what to do about it...
Can't do anything via the administration panel either...

I have been having the same problem. I managed to delete a couple of spam posts but I cannot even open the others. Maybe we have re-strategize.

Walter

Using the link "You can moderate this forum" at the bottom of the NEWS Forum page, I managed to delete those posts. So we are back to normal. Thanks for the efforts Walter!
