SPOTTING AT JNB
COULD ANYONE PLEASE ADVISE ME ON SPOTTING FACILITIES AT JNB AS I WILL BE FLYING UP THERE FOR THE DAY FROM CAPE TOWN ON THE 28TH OF NOV 06. I WONT HAVE ANY TRANSPORT AND I INTEND TO DO SOME PHOTOGRAPHY! IS THIS A PROBLEM FOR SECURITY AT JNB? I HOPE SOMEBODY CAN HELP. THANK YOU IN ANTICIPATION.

Hi Howard. There are 2 viewing decks in the airport itself (1 in the domestic terminal, 1 in the int'l terminal) that offer decent vantage points in the afternoon - they're backlit in the morning from a photography point of view. No transport may be an issue for trying to get to the spotting locations outside of the airport. ACSA has stepped up the security and erected a huge concrete wall around the entire perimeter of the airport ruining a couple of the better spotting locations unfortunately.
