Hello.
I know that the UN (United Nations) do alot of relief flights throughout Africa , the Middle East and some parts of European. Maybe you could contact them by finding a contact over the internet , maybe they have a site. Mostly C-130's , DC-9's and 727's are used and alot are based in Johannesburg. The UN provide food , educational material etc to countries in crisis eg civil wars , drought , famine etc.
Regards,

Isn't there something like the Bush Doctors, flying around in smaller aircraft, delivering medicine and food? I will try to find a website!

I have found a site which might interest you:
The Flying Doctors' Society of Africa at http://www.fdsake.org and the African Medical & Research Foundation at http://www.amref.org
Both of them work together to bring medicine and medical help to people in remote place in East Africa. I don't know it they need pilots, but you can give it a try.
By the way, nice to see someone, who wants to do some good!!!
Hope I could help,

Hi. I am currently a student in the states with one year left at college. I have been around planes and flying with my father for my entire life. I am looking for a way to use flying to help out those in need. Anything from flying in medicine to food, to more people to help out. Though I am Christian, I want to be more focused on filling needs then bringing Bibles. Anyone have any ideas about how I can help and use the gift of flight in the process? :
Thanks
P.S. I can easily get lots of ratings. |
You need to contact Missionary Aviation Fellowship in the USA - they provide a fantastic service all over the world. Their main mission is to support the missionary in the field so they don't only fly Bibles but just about everything else. Can't find a link to their website for you but they really do wonderful work _________________ Tiger Moths, Daks & Harvards will fly forever |
